Logically, anyone who’s not Jewish needs to repent for their ancestors’ worship of non-Jehovah dieties… right?
No, just the brown ones?
I see.

You have to understand, those Native Americans have to repent because their ancestors dared to live on the land that Jesus promised to the Christians when he gave them the Constitution on Mount Sinai!

Crocodile totem poles in Virginia? What planet is this? I know quite of few of these supernaturalist fundies. Their ignorance can be astounding: Jacobs may in fact be completely unaware that her European ancestors had all sorts of pagan and animist beliefs.
They refer to this as “deliverance” ministry, meaning deliverance from evil spirits and not the evil mountain men in the movie, but either reference would fit.

My wife, the Christian aboriginal Canadian, just rolled her eyes.

Does this mean that modern Christians have to repent for the atrocities committed on native people around the world in the name of their God? After all, seems like turn-about is just fair play.

I like how she keeps saying “blood”. Definitely pre-Watson/Crick, she is.

Christianity doesn’t embrace the concept of guilt by bloodline, Cindy, you pusillanimous moron!
Sorry, I needed that. The idea that I have to repent due to the religious beliefs of ancestors I never ever met is so stupid it makes me want to scream.

She does seem to be trying to come up with a stupidity never before considered in theology, which takes real talent.

What??? Huh??? My brain hurts. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her kind many times here in Tennessee (Official state motto: At least we’re not Mississippi.) The best way I can describe the conversational thread is that some small idea will pop into their brain, bounce around like a pachinko machine for awhile and then pop out of their mouth. I was sitting by one at Starbucks not too long ago, she commented on something in the news, and as I joke I said “Well, I suspect the Illuminati are behind it”, and the look on her face was that she had found a kindred spirit. She proceeded to tell me all about the how they were working with satan, how the UN was actually preparing the world for the anti-christ and that all those UFO’s are actually fallen angels. (Imagine Glenn Beck, Alex Jones and Art Bell all rolled into one perma-sprayed hairdo).
At one time, people like that were just the local old lady with the crazy ideas that you tried to avoid at the market. Now they have an internet voice and their wack-a-mole ideas can reach millions.
