Yahoo Starts Scanning Your Email for Advertisers
While you’ll be able to opt out of contextual ads through Yahoo’s Ad Manager, there’s no way to stop the company from monitoring your emails.

I will never use an email service that does something like this.

You might find yourself without an email service at all. (Okay you can have your own as a hot shot web guy with servers) The rest of us mere mortals? :-) Not so much.
This is the flaw in the “free” email services business model.

I know that Google isn’t doing this because if they were they wouldn’t be offering me the stupid things they do. I don’t speak Finnish, I can’t read your goddamn ad, Google. I don’t have a car and I drive slowly and cautiously on the rare occasion that I do drive, I don’t want any radar detectors.
