Better graphics, used games, no always-on, and a lower price. Thanks to constant missteps by Microsoft, Sony has won this console generation before they sell a single PS4.

…but does it come with a rootkit?

I’ll still wait until I know what Nintendo’s next move is. The PS4 is certainly more interesting than being X-Boned by MS (and the price of PS3’s should be better too :) but we’ve got a bit of an investment in the DS handheld.

If it ain’t “make a helluvalot more Wii U games” then they’re in trouble. As well as the 3DS is doing, they really need to make a return on their investment in the Wii U. They haven’t been supporting it with software like they said they would, and thats killing sales. At the very least, they need to bring on their 1st party franchises. Atm, there is New SMB U and… And thats it.

They need to release a new Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Starfox, Mother/Earthbound, Loz, DKC… Hell, I’d even take a new Metroid so long as the makers of “Other M” are out and never touch the franchise again.

As much as I dislike Sony in general, they’re the smartest ones in the console business atm. It bothers me to see the big names in the biz lose their minds simultaneously. “We don’t have to try. People will buy it anyway because they’re morons. PCs? Tablets? Smartphones? Never heard of ‘em.”

In other words Microsoft thought that a game machine could be JUST LIKE an iPad.

I guess the reason that apple people aren’t offended by a walled garden and gamers are is that games COST TEN TIMES AS MUCH AS APPS.

Apps are so cheap that they’re almost free, even with DRM.

How does the mandatory every 24 hr check-in work? Does someone actually have to turn on the machine and login? What if you miss the check-in? This is very disturbing.
