Thanks. It was a good day, there are more shots at the blog. We hiked a good mile to get the spiderweb. The trip was worth it just to hear the wind in the pines. To get there you go from city to low desert to high desert. From Joshua tree to cactus to pines. And a really good look at the San Andreas fault on the ground to boot. Huge bent rock layers. The trouble with those shots is scale is hard to convey. The rock formations you see are huge.

I used to love that about living in Vegas. Bright lights of the city, through the hot desert, up Mt. Charleston to play in the snow. Yes the rock scales are awesome. One thing I always tell newbie hikers, ” climbing up is easy, getting down is the hard part”.
