It’s amazing that Maggie80 and the rest of the tools don’t have one word to say when wealth/income is distributed up to those who are already doing well. They have been conditioned to hate on the poor and think that the words redistribution of income refers only to the poor “taking” their money through tax increases. Their lack of compassion for low wage workers doesn’t surprise me at all. They seem to view a living wage as a jobs and business destroyer. This shows they’re incapable of thinking logically or critically. People who earn a living wage have won’t need to rely on public assistance. This alone would decrease government spending on some social programs. I also notice they have no idea what the words socialism and communism mean. To them, they’re terms they use to denigrate their fellow citizens and the fact that government does provide some assistance to them. Any one of these tools could at any time find him/herself having to rely on government assistance due to losing a job or medical bills. Their stupidity hurts.

If both the jobs this theoretical person has pay minimum wage, he/she is working 66 hours a week, and they’re doing it just to not quite get by.

OH YEAH!! And that ignores the fact that these are the same assholes who think we should scrap the minimum wage.

I read “The Richest Man in Babylon” (or parts of it) years ago, when I was in 5th grade I think. What a huge pile of horse shit, even lamer than Atlas Shrugged.

A business has a right to profit for no poor man ever gave you a job. This living wage crap will destroy business and all consumers will pay for it. This is just another sneaky way to redistribute wealth. These jobs are meant for high schoolers

If it’s meant for High schooler’s, why is there rent and utilities in the budget Maggie?

You know, McDonald’s would have been better off not making a ridiculous budget. The fact that they did come up with this budget and thought it was a wise decision to publish it, makes me worry about their thought process.

If these jobs are only for high schoolers, why is McDonald’s open during school hours?

Because shut up, that’s why!

Seriously, though - those jobs are meant for high schoolers? More and more of the jobs being created are lower and lower wage jobs. There aren’t that many high schoolers in America to fill them, and it’s not like there are high paying jobs that are going begging.

In my area, McDonald’s are located inside of Walmart, so you “Spoiled Brats” could get two jobs from crappy employers and never even have to leave the building. Think of the gasoline savings alone, not to mention the utilities you won’t be using during the 18 hours a day you’re at work.

This Derp Blaze article dances around the main point of the critics by pretending its all about semantics.

“McDonald’s is not…saying that workers need $2,060 per month to survive. It is merely giving a sample budget for someone who earns that amount of money,” Business Insider notes.

Does McDs give a sample budget for someone who earns less than 2K a month? **chirping crickets**

And if Derp Blaze thinks you can live for less than 2k a month, then they probably assume you’re living in an alleyway or something.

“Nor is McDonald’s saying that you need a second job to survive. It is simply providing a budgeting tool for households where one individual works multiple jobs or two individuals are employed — which is totally useful and reasonable,” the article adds.

Oh, so McDs isn’t telling you to get a second job. They’re just assuming you already have one. That makes it all better, right?

Did McD’s give a “totally useful and reasonable” budgeting tool for people who can’t get a second source of income? **chirping crickets**

Derp Blaze pretends the problem is that we perceive it as an order to go get a second job when its really just a suggestion or something. Which is dumber: Derp Blaze, or the strawman they used? I’m betting on Blaze.

And here are some dim thoughts the article closes on:

Yes, low-wage jobs are tough and they require strict budgeting discipline. Yes, it would be great if everyone was paid more.

Nevertheless, low-wage gigs are manageable if one has reasonable budgeting habits…

…and a second job. Thats the point Derp Blaze kept evading through this entire piece.

Of course, we could always go the way of Sen. Elizabeth Warren and raise the federal minimum to $22 an hour … or $100 (that way everyone can be rich!):

Der! They made a funny!

Way to go on jumping to the most extreme example they could think of. That way, they don’t have to think about how inflation made it impossible to live on single-digit dollar wages anymore.
