the radical right’s obsessive fear that the government is about to move against the American people, seizing their guns and ending liberty.

Dude, man, we don’t even know where Idaho is. How are we going to go there to take your stupid gunz?

There will be a workshop on colloidal silver — a substance that many on the radical right believe is a cure for all kinds of ailments that the government has kept secret from the people. In fact, the substance has no known medical use and, if used with the frequency that some radicals do, turns human skin blue.

Sounds wonderful. //

At least it’s an appropriate spot to talk about silver since Coeur d’Alene is a historical silver mining area…

And if they do turn themselves blue with the silver, they’ll be REALLY FRICKIN OBVIOUS.

That area was also the headquarters of the Aryan Nation, IIRC

With the right presentation (by a goateed, gun wielding reverend and fake SF operator) you could probably convince them that daily doses of mercuric oxide would make them immune to chemtrail agents.
The stupid bastards would feed it to their children, though, so that idea’s out.

Rhodes has shown his paranoia about a coming dictatorship, or loss of freedom, before. Two years ago, he moved to Montana to be part of an “American Redoubt” to make a kind of last-ditch defense of the Constitution. Now, with his latest set of friends in Idaho, he seems to have gone even further to the extreme right.

If it was a dictatorship resembling, say that of General Pinochet, I suspect Mr. Rhodes would have very little problem with that.

The Oath Keepers really are double patriots.

Yep; the Hayden Lake compound of the Aryan Nations. About 7 miles from Coeur d’Alene.
