I hate this guy.

I get that he wabts his 15 minutes, but damn! How tone-deaf can a man be? This is right up there with Mitt Romney’s “47%” percent remarks for sheer cluelessness.

Yeah, I flat out don’t get why he’s seen as a hero. He killed a kid. That doesn’t make him the most evil person ever but the Zimmerman is a hero crowd just weirds me out.

I’ve noticed that Zimmerman’s supporters are on a mission to make the death of Mr. Lane in OK comparable to Trayvon Martin’s death. I think the reason they’ve latched on to the Lane killing is because, somewhere deep down inside of themselves in the dead of night, they know Zimmerman was wrong to kill an unarmed kid. Their way of proving to themselves that they were justified in supporting Zimmerman is to take an unrelated case, compare it to the Martin case and harp about why President Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Jessie Jackson, Sr. haven’t addressed Lane’s death. If this can gain ground, it will allow them to say, “See, it’s not only whites who kill blacks for racist reasons!” It won’t matter to them that there are glaring differences between the Martin and Lane cases. They just want a reason to justify their racism and lack of empathy in the Martin case.

If I were Zimmerman, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a gun factory after what he did. I’d keep a low profile. I think Zimmerman will end up like OJ Simpson. Simpson didn’t know when to leave well enough alone. After he was acquitted in the Goldman/Simpson murders, he couldn’t keep himself from taking the law into his own hands so he committed another crime. He may have thought his past wouldn’t catch up to him, but it did, and it’s why he’s sitting in prison today. I strongly believe that there will come a time when Zimmerman will cross the line again and end up behind bars. He seems to have the same mentality as OJ Simpson in thinking that he’s above being held responsible for the things he does. I only hope I’ll be around when it happens. He’s walking around so full of himself. This kind of mindset often leads one to think that s/he can get away with anything. IMO, it’s only a matter of time before Zimmerman ends up behind bars. It might be sooner rather than later if he’s prosecuted for molesting his own cousin and found guilty.

Zimmerman’s lawyer isn’t the first lawyer to defend someone guilty of murder and he won’t be the last.

And George Zimmerman can die a slow and painful death and then rot in hell.

As tone-deaf as people who believe Zimmerman’s account of what happened.

I came across this Op-Ed from 20 years ago regarding the Yoshihiro Hattori shooting.

articles.sun-sentinel.com

Two things struck me. First, that the shooter expressed remorse for his actions, even after his acquittal, and further stated that he would never own a gun again (the contrast with GZ is obvious).

Second, the editorial praises Florida’s “duty to retreat” law in place at the time as “sensible”. Of course, this was before the NRA made it legal to shoot anyone who looks at you cross-eyed.
