I am guessing that the conservatives like this school because most of its pupils come from the wealthier families of Sweden, ja? In other words, if such events had happened at a public school, they’d be just fine with sacking the principal, shuttering the school and then bragging about how much taxpayers’ money they’d saved.

There seems to be a reactionary element worldwide. It dismays me that even progressive Sweden, homeland of three of my grandparents, also has to deal with RWNJs.

Hazing of any kind is inexcusable. It’s just another form of bullying, with first-years the target. Or perhaps Lundsbergs was grooming future members of Parliament?

The latency time from when a particular fashionable policy is come up with by the right in the US to when the right here tries it is becoming shorter and shorter. And the amount of policies that is imported from the also seems to be on the increase.

At times, I find myself wondering whether it is a desperation among righties world-wide that stuff is going out of their hands permanently?

Of hazing and bullying is inexcusable. And had it been a public school, people would be in court by now. There have been several cases where bullied students and their parents have sued and the courts have basically paddled the schools posteriors.

The behaviour at Lundsberg has gone on for years if not even decades.
I don’t know how many of the right-wing politicians are Lundsberg alumni, but many offspring of Swedish aristocracy and businessowners etc have studied at Lundsberg and other private and expensive boarding schools.

I have much the same idea. The world moves on while they stand behind it yelling, “Stop! No more!” They see their relevance waning, so they fight to maintain it by being noisy and outrageous.

Or, they are just completely tone-deaf and fail to see that most of the population really gives a shit what they think.
