No, it is not a web wide attack but there will be a whole lot of hysteria on both extremes of the issue.

For a more balanced look at this, from a pro-gun perspective, may I suggest this:

Is there something in the water? These are the folks that are most motivated to vote. You don’t need a majority to pass an agenda, you just need a very teeny angry, furious, minority that is motivated to get to the polls. This is what the GOP understands, and how they win. Just ask Jack Abramoff.

In the Colorado recall 13% activist gunnuts turned out the vote.

I do not understand these people. I really don’t. They feel so shat upon, by the elite, that they must bear arms in public?

Another day, another mass murder. People die. *shrug*

F U, Prez. Schultz, and your far left liberal agenda.

I see the G-dFearing, family values crowd has weighed in. //

If you want me to come into a Starbacks unarmed, then Starbucks, the company, must be in a position to guarantee my safety. Starbucks, are you willing to do that?

Some notorious character here who needs protection wherever he or she goes. //

I say arm the baristas and anytime they think there’s a reason to suspect foul play or danger, open fire. After all, who knows who’s got what. Keeping your customers safe, by shooting other customers. Sounds reasonable to me.

Yeah it’s such a left liberal agenda to want your business to be free of idiots with guns. Honestly, I ain’t going to lie here. I’d feel very uncomfortable being in a place of business with someone with a visible gun on them. It sure as hell isn’t going to make me feel more safe despite what they want to believe about themselves as these noble “good guys with guns.”

Which means 87% of voters stayed home.

Pretty much the reason these kooks won so many downticket elections in 2010 - non-kooks stayed home.

Ugh!

I’ve determined that when wingnuts talk about “The Constitution” they are not referring to the U.S. Constitution as it exists in reality, but to another constitution that exists only in their minds. This “Real American” constitution reads like this:

We the white people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, so anyone can take any gun anywhere they want, praise Jesus. Amen!

(Note, the word “white” was eliminated in 1865 when David Barton says Republican leader Martin Luther King helped Strom Thurmond defeat racism forever!)

Obviously I’m technically challenged today but

If you want me to come into a Starbacks unarmed, then Starbucks, the company, must be in a position to guarantee my safety. Starbucks, are you willing to do that?

Makes me realize how often I’ve gone out completely unarmed in my life.

And the translation to authentic wingnut gibberish might look something like this:

Gunz. Moar gunz. Gunz 11ty! Gunz under the bed. Gunz under the pillow. Toddlers with Gunz. Blind people with Gunz. Gunz is the precious. Gunz everywhere. There is no problem that cannot be solved with MOAR GUNZ. Gunz are our only God, and Wayne LaPierre is his Prophet.

I wish I could put this sign on my front door:

“Do not bring your guns into this house. Yeah, I have guns here, but it’s my fucking house. Leave your guns at your own fucking house.”

You’d think a bunch of far right-wing types would at the very least understand the concept of private property, but apparently not. Maybe they’ve caught some kind of residual commie brain virus from their obsessive reading of Russia Today. What’s theirs is theirs, what is Starbuck’s is negotiable.

People who carry guns out in the open in public are bullies. They should be mercilessly mocked for their stupidity.

You hit the nail on the head. They do it so you can see it. Feel it. They are also very afraid as most bullies are. Those that see demand that guns should be allowed everywhere are frightened little boys and girls trying to show how tough they are.
