Taj Burrow Wins 2013 Hurley Pro Surf Contest
More: TAJ BURROW WINS HURLEY PRO
The Hurley Pro, at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, CA is the 7th stop on the ASP World Tour. It is usually one of the most exciting contests of the year, since Trestles is one of the world’s most high-performance waves. This year was no exception, however the pyrotechnics occurred in rather small scale surf. The Pacific Ocean has not been producing much in the way of surf for the west coast recently, so the contest was run in 2-3’ waves. It is still amazing though, to watch what these guys can do even in smaller, weaker waves.
Early exits for both Joel Parkinson and Kelly Slater have made the title race very interesting. Coming soon - the European leg of the tour, with events in France and Portugal, beginning on September 26.
