“If you go to the 1940s, Nazi Germany,” Cruz said. “Look, we saw in Britain, Neville Chamberlain, who told the British people, ‘Accept the Nazis. Yes, they’ll dominate the continent of Europe but that’s not our problem. Let’s appease them. Why? Because it can’t be done. We can’t possibly stand against them.’”

I realize that Ted’s audience doesn’t give a damn about facts, but

1) Chamberlain went in 1938.

2) He never said anything close to what Ted says he did.

3) Chamberlain was a conservative, just like you, Ted, but there was one difference: unlike you, Ted, Chamberlain was a decent man who had an error of judgement.

All hat, no cattle. No wonder Palin supports the idiocy.

Cruz is back. “The founding of our nation embodied many revolutions.” He also referred to the Founders as “we.”

He’d look stupid in a wig.

This is like taking a history class from Abbott and Costello.

Please: We all know the facts. First, the Nazis offered Czechoslovakia single-payer health care. When the Czechs refused, the Germans took Sudetenland, and the British Empire, weakened by socialized medicine, offered up speeches by Chamberlain. (I learned this all from Texas-approved textbooks.)

Right because health care reform is just like the Sudentland. Fuck you Cruz. fuck you very much for likening Neville Chamberlain’s selling out of the Czechoslovak people to Hitler to President Obama just trying to make health care more affordable and accessible, you’re a monster.

@Skip Intro

A minor correction: Chamberlain remained Prime Minister until May of 1940 when the defeat of France was imminent.

Your overall point, however, is correct. Chamberlain never said anything remotely resembling what Cruz is alleging. In fact, Chamberlain to this day bears the brunt of a revisionist history. Chamberlain instituted a peacetime draft in 1938, and ramped up production of the Spitfires and Hurricanes that won the Battle of Britain two years later. He served as a loyal member of Churchill’s cabinet from May 1940 until his death six months later.
