Great! I’m going to get that H-Bomb I always wanted!

LOL Wut?

Even Scalia admits heavy weapons are explicitly out of bounds. And that the Feds had the right to restrict certain arms. And that the 2nd only counts for “bearable” arms. So unless you can pick up that tank and bear it like a rifle, no go.

BTW unless you are an Air Force pilot what freaking good is an F-16 except as an unguided suicide jet? Heh reminds me of the Onion-

Open tryouts for the Blue Angels.

For some weird reason no one has ever had a problem with privately-owned artillery, though there are controls on HE ammunition.

Oh good, I’ve always wanted an AC-130 Specter gunship. Can someone link me to the financing terms for one of those babies?

Barton is incapable of thought. His head would probably explode if someone asked pointed questions about Al Capone’s self-defense rights back in the day.

I’m all for it. ///

Most military weapons require high levels of intelligence and training. They also require huge outlays in time and money to maintain at combat readiness. Otherwise they either don’t work or are more dangerous to the user than to the opponents.

Such weapons are a Darwin Award waiting to happen.

So, yeah, let the wingnuts have military hardware. In a couple of years time they’ll either be too busy to bother sane people, too broke to cause any harm or dead in a manner that will make people point and laugh when the video is posted on the internet.

Old artillery pieces are often used as ornaments. They require a lot more maintenance than a pistol and are harder to conceal. They are difficult to use. There haven’t been many cases of mass murder by a mentally disturbed individual using artillery. Gangbangers rarely travel about with an artillery piece limbered to their vehicle. You cannot defend yourself from angry civilians by using an artillery piece.

Ladies and gents, the man who helped shape the 2012 GOP platform.

I’m as pro gun control as they come, but I beg to differ. If the Supreme Court takes the position that the Second Amendment allows Americans unfettered access to weaponry unimagined in the 18th Century, then isn’t it Scalia’s responsibility to define the line of what is an acceptable weapon and what isn’t? Moreover, he has to explain how and why he draws the line … whereever it is he draws it.

So I don’t need to object to people buying personal military equipment. I already took that position before reading this article. But the action item should be to demand of Scalia to fully explain his Second Amendment.
