Abortion Rights Groups Poised to File Lawsuit Over Texas’ New Abortion Law
The editors or writer of this article put a subtle twist in the headline - I’ve altered it to read “Abortion Rights Groups” instead of “Abortion Advocacy Groups”. None of the groups mentioned advocate for Abortions, instead they advocate for Women’s rights to choose. In the body they are are characterized as rights groups, but in the headline as advocates for abortion so I’ve sent the author a tweet to gain clarification:
@BeeDotMartin Quick Question: your choice or editor’s to characterize Planned Parenthood as “Abortion Advocates?”
Abortion rights groups have announced a press conference, apparently to announce a lawsuit challenging the state’s new abortion restrictions set to take effect Oct. 29.
On Friday morning, the American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Reproductive Rights and Planned Parenthood said they will announce “a new joint effort in support of women’s health.”
These three groups have come together in the past to challenge similar restrictions in other states.
