Perhaps instead the right term is Psychopathic, and not Sociopathic, behavior.

They don’t care that they’re subverting our democracy.

They don’t care that they’re hurting millions, and will hurt potentially billions if they cause us to default.

To these nutjobs, these Tea Party morons, they’re getting what they want — the destruction of social programs, of government spending (good and bad), of government oversight over hundreds of industries.

And to them, the fact that they got what they want justifies everything else.

Or, to put it more succinctly: IGMFU. I got mine - Fuck you.

These nutjobs are not aware of the inter-connectedness of our economy, or that what they’re advocating could cause them to lose their own jobs. Some of them would then be members of the group they love to hate so much—the economically disadvantaged. With the social programs gone, they’d be forced to take to the streets and panhandle to survive. Gone will be their houses, apartments, cars, boats, vacation homes, etc. Cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face can lead to economic ruin for some of the very people who are calling for funding only the parts of government they like/approve of, but then, they’re not known for being deep, or critical, thinkers.

Oh, hello Fox News. Right on time:

“You know, I think you may see a partial shutdown for several days. But [Fox and Friend co-host] Steve [Doocy], people are probably going to realize they can live with a lot less government than what they thought they needed,” she said, prompting host Brian Kilmeade to add, “it’s like the sequester all over.”

It kind of makes me wish that air travel was considered nonessential. Shut down air traffic control and ground all planes and then watch business demand that Congress get off its butt. Unfortunately the “nonessential” items are things like scientific research that teabillies are only too happy to see cut.

The wingnuts are trying to restore, in dribs and drabs, the parts of “non-essential” government services that they want to receive, like veterans’ benefits. Then they complain even louder OBAMA HATEZ TEH VETERANZ!!!1!!!

The parts of “non-essential” government services that the wingnuts cherry-pick, of course, are chosen for their street theater value, like yesterday’s stunt with the elderly WW2 veterans.

My question is; how is it that you even know such people well enough to hear them speak on politics (never mind sex or religion) outside of an anonymous blog?

I do not think the business community is going to let this go on for much longer. They are going to (and sounds like already are) call their puppets in the GOP, tell them to bend over and take it now or never, ever, ever see another dime in contributions again.
