Vitamin company? Sounds legit to me./

” I own a vitamin company w…”

In other words, he’s a magical thinker working one of the oldest scams around.

Don’t get me wrong - proper nutrition and supplementation is the path needed for health and strength. But one can buy what is really needed from a thousand places, and online stores (e.g., Amazon) have everything one would want.

Yeah, the vitamin bit is really shady.

Vitamins are barely regulated by the FDA as it is, really only when salespeople make outlandish claims about the product.

California vitamin business over-regulation: basically griping about California Prop 65 (1986) which, among other things, regulates the level of lead contamination allowed in vitamin supplements. Prop 65 also places the burden of proof on the business to prove that their products do what they claim they’ll do.

Unfortunately, neither political party was able to prevent him from making movies altogether.

Yeah, it’s totally NOT because he’s overrated and irritating, nooooo!

Deuce Bigalow: I haven’t made a movie in 7 years because of Democrats

Another thing to thank the Democrats for.

The GOP has become the last refuge of the unfunny comics.

…why is he talking like Rob Schneider NOT making movies is a good thing?

9 lawhawk  Wed, Oct 2, 2013 6:09:35am

I posted it before, but I’ll do so here as well. Rob Schneider is talking out of his ass about not having worked in CA for the last 7 years.

For starters, the current Governor is a Jerry Brown, who came into office in 2011. Before that, Arnold was governor from 2003 to 2011. The legislature during that time and to the present is a Democrat majority (but also Democrats are the state reps from LA, where Hollywood is situated).

Then, there’s the fact that he indeed worked on films that were made in California. In this year, he was in the movie InAPPropriate Comedy, which was made in California.

In 2010, he was in The Chosen One, which was filmed in Santa Clarita, California, Los Angeles, California, and Costa Rica.

Other films have location listings in California and other locales.

So, why would films be made in places other than CA? Well, film incentives are a huge industry for states and localities. States and localities like NYC throw credits and incentives at film productions to do their shooting there. In exchange, the cities and states get listed in the credits. Producers know to look for incentives when they’re considering on-location and studio productions.

It’s not because of Democrats in California.

If Rob’s changing parties, it’s for reasons other than this.

I rate Rob’s statement a deuce in the pants.

He’s also a kook. Perfect for the Republicans.

The last time I made a movie in California was seven years ago

Just another public service California has provided to the nation.

And that is supposed to make me want to vote for republican how?

13 ObserverArt  Wed, Oct 2, 2013 8:34:39am

I can’t remember. Was he on SNL at any time with Victoria Jackson?

14 BusyMonster  Wed, Oct 2, 2013 9:07:55am

I’m trying to figure out how Rob Schneider can pull himself up from his own bootstraps.

Awfully hard to do that with his head shoved up his ass.

Mental note: never accidentally watch Rob Schneider again.

He is also an anti vaccine nut, if that helps

A massive rise in independent film making, the winners of which really are chosen by their merits - instead of large productions succeeding due to the betting habits of studio heads and their decisions re marketing budget - is the cause of his childish whining.

Yep, He really is a libertarian. In a high school kind of way.
Meaning, of course - republican.

Film making has seen a radical democratization during the past 20 years - as long as you recognize that the film industry is not ‘Hollywood’, as right wingers - and far too many on the left - like to pretend.
And this change is not about tax, or labor(though there have been some issues around these, but not in an industry-changing way) - it’s about technology. It’s about creative people having access to equipment that used to only be owned by a small group of film producers. Equipment that was so expensive, it would only be available to those guaranteeing a decent box office before a word is written.
That’s no longer the case, and government has only had a positive effect in this area - government departments like NASA, military, intelligence gathering departments, science funding(the largest contributor by far to tech advancement is government funding of projects the private world wouldn’t touch), etc etc - all that technology made it down the pike to the public.
Companies like Sony, and all those fantastic smaller high tech camera and tech companies didn’t succeed due to tax breaks and next to no regulations - they succeeded because of the accessibility and quality of their product.

The same can be said for Rob Schneider. Except that same environment meant he was a one hit wonder. I love that somehow government regulation means the Hollywood (the Joos?) won’t hire him as a headliner.
