More right wing newspeak. “objective public education” here means sectarian indoctrination.

“Citizens for Objective Public Education” It’s almost Orwellian…

Fixed that for you.

Not only that…. even Mathematics has overtones of an evil secular bias that denies the existence of God.

It almost seems like the fundie community is perfectly willing to provide all their children with the tools and knowledge to function well in the 19th Century.

Kids who learn about evolution are not required to “believe” it. They are only expected to gain a knowledge of the evidence scientists have interpreted and understand why scientists (and others) think we evolved. If the students become convinced by the evidence, well, the students have a right to make up their own minds.

They also have a right to believe that the devil put all those fossils around to deceive mankind or that God made it look like evolution occurred to “test man’s faith”.

They should not get to keep on believing that there is no scientific basis for crediting Darwin’s theory——-though I suppose some “true believers” think all the fossils and other evidence are hoaxes and that all scientists are liars. For people like that, there is really nothing you can do….

There are some people whom I think are welcome to their religion, then, there are some whom I think are a danger to democracy.

Wait, I know there are some extremist atheists out there, but since when did atheism become a “religion”?

Do these people even realize that if a court ruled in their favor, then the second they began teaching creationism or ID in schools, Muslims (or people of any other religion) would be able to make the same charge based on the precedent they helped set? Ditto for atheism since the refer to it as a religion.

Yeah, I know they don’t really care about religious freedom—Sharia is okay as long as it’s the Christian version.

I think it is established law that Americans do not have the right to grow up ignorant.

Best line I ever heard regarding that… Atheism is a religion in exactly the same way not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Oh ye of little faith. The daily devotions (11+ times a day) to various atheist saints, idols and icons are quite demanding. //

Funny that the acronym for this group of zealots with the Orwellian name is COPE.

Coping with a modern society is exactly what these fools are incapable of doing.
