CJ Sparrow filed his legal documents Monday, August 12, 2013, making him a candidate for the office of Mayor of Minneapolis. The rules allow a candidate to file under a political party name or a three-word political principle. Sparrow filed under “Count All Rankings”. In an interview with Southwest Journal, Sparrow said he did this because “he wanted all of the candidates to be treated fairly”.
