Lets see, we can work our employees like rented mules, since we just have to pay them base pay. We’ll offer them comp time, but since they don’t get paid for it,it doesn’t really cost anything. Plus, we pay them so poorly that they won’t be able to afford the time off to start with. It’s the most evil thing I’ve heard of… when can we put it into place?

Of course this will only be applicable if the employees “agree”, but I know that where I work there have been a number of policies put into place that I “Agreed” to simply because it was agree or leave. Anything I would say that would accurately express my contempt for these spawn would rightly force Charles to ban me.

Well, we wouldn’t want to punish the job creators by expecting them to pay overtime. //

No, this way they can work people like dogs, then cast them off on unpaid vacation days to make up for their long hours and the inconvenience of working those long hours. The bonus is for all their trouble, they get to keep their jobs.

Oh, how these employers miss those days of walking ten miles to school in the snow with potatoes in their pockets for heat. You know, back in the days when everyone loved America.

Unions = paid overtime = Unions Hate America.

The GOP is trying to undo a century of labor laws and regulations, one step at a time.

I do not understand how this is anything but straight-up wage theft.

Am on the fence about this. Agree there is way too much potential for abuse. Otoh back in the ’80s I informally swapped several ‘need you to work late today’ and ‘need someone a half day on Saturday’ for some 3 and 4 day weekends, was pissed when employer no longer allowed that.

Mrs. Roby’s act, H.R. 1406, would be, according to the CBO report, “revenue neutral.” In other words, it would NOT affect the cost or performance of the federal government, or of state or local governments, nor would it impose any costs upon them.

Bullshit. Less wages means less revenue. Less revenue means cut government services. Less income means lower economic activity and a sluggish economy locally and nationally.

Is there a single Republican that has a modicum of knowledge about tax policy (other than to cut them) or how a capitalistic economy works?

And that does nothing to address compensation of workers. Fuck, just put all Americans in prison and there you go; no more wage issues, no need for elections, no need for government. Put the private prison system in charge of everything. That will delight the “job creators”.

Seriously, fuck Republican’s sideways for their flame throwing, know-nothing, day-to-day bullshit that does nothing but harm real Americans across the country. They put our economy at risk daily. And either they are too stupid to know or knowing enough to not give a shit.
