“…the author wrote that he or she was looking “to warn my beloved Jewish friends and family of the judgment that lies ahead.”

Bullshit. He or she can communicate the “necessity” of converting to Christianity privately to family and friends, and when told to piss off needs to accept their decisions. For a former Jew to publicly state that the Jews deserve whatever comes their way because of the Crucifixion offers justification of former crimes against the Jews and license for further atrocities.

I’m thinking that the author should be getting therapy for his or her self-loathing rather than trying to spread it around via religion.

I read an article about this yesterday, but it wasn’t as detailed. People…*SIGH*

The writer holds nothing but love for his heritage and feels very deeply for the welfare of the Jewish people.

No, that writer is fucked up.

This honest to God reminds me of reading about Anti-Antisemitism in Russia when a Christian convert from Judaism would use something like this or some other messed up shit to rationalize prejudice against Jews. More casual Antisemitism under the guise of Christianity. Sad that it hasn’t gone away as we get more modern and coming from Harvard of all places.

Many times the person who converted to Christianity out of Judaism had a long grudge against the Jewish community and would incite pogroms by making up blood libel.

From one of my comments on a different thread:

When I was a teenager my family attended a Methodist church, but we were fortunate to have a pastor with an interesting take on the responsibility for Christ’s crucifixion: “He died for OUR sins,” meaning that all who found redemption through Him were the real reason for His sacrifice. Rather than looking for other sinful people to point our fingers at, we were encouraged to see our own sins as the reason His sacrifice was necessary. It may not have been just our pastor but rather what is now, unfortunately, an out of vogue interpretation.

Yeah, terrible stuff. I mean damn if this person wants to convert to Christianity, fine but don’t use Antisemitic language and then claim some crap that you have nothing but love and respect for the Jewish community when repeating bs that would have made pogromiskii grin.
