I always enjoy my collaborations with DB/RWC as I believe no matter how much I’ve learned about photography, there is always much room to explore and, hopefully, grow. Take these pics for example; I’ve never had an opportunity to capture images of flames as the main subject in the frame. In doing so, I am reminded of a comment a fire-fighter acquaintance shared with me — he believed that one should treat fire as if it were a living, sentient thing — and respect it as such. Looking closer at these frames, I can fully appreciate his belief …

Actually 2nd photo really looks like an Easter Island statue breathing fire.

Thanks and yeah we get these phenomenal shapes. I think we will get back out and work this method further. One of the things we are trying to capture is that instant of ignition. One thing I want to follow up on is this one, a shot of the edge of a blow furnace. Image: KWERKTrailer_5382.jpg
