I was going to link to a scene from Forrest Gump, (don’t pretend you don’t know which one) but I can’t find it. Oh well.

Its 2013 going on 2014, and this is only getting changed now. Yet, SCotUS said racism was a thing of the past.

Sometimes we all do things that just don’t make sense.

I don’t agree with the recent supreme court ruling where they threw out part of the voting rights act, but I don’t think any of the justices actually said racism has disappeared. Please provide me a quote from a reputable source, if you want to say otherwise.

re: #2 CriticalDragon1177

I was loosely paraphrasing, obviously. I know its more accurate to say that SCotUS majority opinion basically said that part of the VRA was no longer necessary. But, what else does that decision mean if not what I said before?

Sorry, but I’m not in the mood to split hairs.

Sorry I forgot to include the link to the hate watch article, and didn’t notice until now somehow. I just fixed that. Sorry guys.

re: #1 EiMitch

By the way, you may have had a significantly more negative view of this, than you otherwise would have, since I had forgotten to link to the hate watch article where it talks about how the letters the Klan sent to the Florida school board actually had the opposite effect of what they intended. Even the most conservative members of the school board were basically shocked into supporting the name change.

re: #1 EiMitch

The final vote to change the name was unanimous by the way.

Actually, I found that link on my own. So I stand by my statements.

Its great the vote was unanimous, and that the Klan’s brand is considered poison on both sides of the aisle.

But come on! Its 2013! This should’ve happened much sooner. Like in 2007 when they previously voted.

re: #7 EiMitch

I agree that it should have happened much sooner, although I have to say, better late than never. At least it finally happened. I think its still a positive sign over all as far as I’m concerned. You can look at it as the glass being half empty if you want to.
