It is remarkable how conservatives are so deeply concerned about the welfare of the most pampered elites in the history of the world, but couldn’t give a rat’s ass about tens of millions of ordinary Americans struggling to get by on limited resources.

That’s not remarkable. That’s who conservatives are in our society. But yes it’s quite pathetic, I agree.

I guess Colbert can retire, Bill-O is offically a parody of himself.

Yeah, being rich is a tough, dangerous gig all right. That’s why we see so many of the idle rich saying “fuck it” and giving it all to the Salvation Army before they revert to the security and peace of blessed poverty. Some, the entitled heirs, may be trying this chic new life of destitution for the first time. Indeed, many of the silver spoon mob are serious adventurers, with a real hunger for novel experiences. What could be more novel to them than living in a leaky trailer and wondering whether they can find 2 bucks for next week’s supply of ramen noodles?
It’s a veritable stampede of the nouveau poor, the latest thing in privileged circles. O’Reilly no doubt hangs onto his own millions only because his commitment to public service requires the sacrifice. Otherwise I would expect to see him camped out under a bridge by this time next year, happily brewing up a stew of snared rabbit and pilfered McDonald’s ketchup packages while he regales his fellow bums with tales of his dangerous, worry-filled life of wealth and privilege.
