Do you think that we should get rid of the 15th and 19th amendments as well?

Of course he does, as do, I assume, the majority of the Tea Party.

Did Bryan forget to mention that only practicing Christians belonging to the correct sect should be allowed to vote as well?

Off course, I’m certain that to Bryan, only Christians belonging to his sect are Christians.

I guarantee you he doesn’t think Mormons are Christians. Right there, we can be confident, Glenn Beck couldn’t vote in Bryan Fischer’s America.

He’s an insult to every living and dead American. Period.

And when, in his world, slavery is re-introduced, slaves will count as property.

Since those slaves will be heretics, pagans and other forms of libtards they won’t be able to vote.

It’s a twofer!

Well in that case Bryan, I don’t think religious people should vote, ///

Well, Bryan, if I’m not going to have voting rights, then I’m no longer paying one fucking dime of taxes, including the social security and medicare most of your friends and fans are probably living off.

So, there’s that going for ya, jackass.

I own property and I vote that we shut Bryan Fischer the hell up!

So Jacksonian democracy is too radical for Bryan. God dude, please shut up about tyranny if you actually believe only landowners should be able to vote. Typical right wing asshole whose solution to his party and ideology being repudiated is to limit suffrage.

Given the fact that he also doesn’t think non Christians have any right to practice their faith in this country, he is just about the last person who should be said to be supporting liberty

As imperfect and bigoted as the founding fathers may have been, at least, unlike Fischer, they were enlightened enough to see the need for the separation of Church and state, and understood that people actually do have a right to practice whatever religion they want, regardless of how we may feel about it. If Fischer had his way, America would be a theocracy, something each of them would have dreaded.

I wouldn’t say that. There are a lot of intelligent rational religious people out there that bring a lot to the table. But I’d be terrified of large numbers of people like Bryan voting in our country. Luckily, he’s kind of extreme even for the religious right.

He’s no different than the Taliban attitude wise if you ask me.

This is pretty much basic boilerplate conservative distrust of democracy.

The classic rightwing critique that the rabble will eventually overtake the traditional power structures under the control of landed elites and/or established religious hierarchy with their collective electoral power.

This is shit that goes back to the 17th and 18th century. This is what conservatism is. Why do all keep being offended and aghast when one of them just repeats three hundred year old arguments as if they are somehow radical. Its the exact opposite of radical, its classic reaction. Classic conservatism

THIS IS WHAT CONSERVATISM IS. I don’t think one can repeat that enough.

Actually that’s not true. I don’t think the Taliban claims to be fighting for liberty or limited government. Fischer’s ridiculous claim that he’s a champion of the constitution is like the head of the Taliban claiming that they’re champion’s of the universal declaration of human rights.

The late Boston libertarian talk host David Brudnoy liked this idea. Unfortunately, it has a lot of flaws. He discussed it on the show a few times.

Essentially, if that is implemented, Brudnoy himself would have not been able to vote! He was a renter, and never owned a car. During the show, you could hear him think it through in his head and realize there would have to be special cases within special cases with such a law.

Brudnoy was well off, articulate, intelligent, conservative, and he could not vote? That wouldn’t stand. What of retired veterans in public housing? Could they not vote?

It could not work.
