I bought one order for the Westboro Baptist Church as a donation because we all know how much God hates irregularity.

Haha, I liked the review that said they were sending a bag to every member of Congress to show their gratitude. : )

Well, I might exempt a few…

Lycasin…

en.wikipedia.org

Lycasin’s known side effects in adults include bloating, intestinal gurgling or rumbling (borborygmi), and flatulence. Some cases of severe intestinal distress have resulted from consuming excessive quantities of foods containing Lycasin. One well-known product containing Lycasin are the sugarless Haribo gummy bears.[3] Prolonged or acute diarrhea may be a sign of Lycasin poisoning and individuals should seek immediate medical help if they experience these symptoms.[4]

Hahahaha. Phew! I do not eat gummy bears. Heck, I can’t think if I ever tried one, sugar or sugarless.

I sent the link to my doctor friend in Virginia and replied back with this:

About 2 years ago I had my second colonoscopy. As you know, one has to drink either a half-gallon or a gallon of a powder mixed with water. The brand name is “Golightly,” but the generic name is “Dontstryfarfromthetoiletbecauseyouareabouttocrapyourbrainsout.”

Actually, it did not have that effect on me. I drank, I went and, while the effect was not explosive, I had a successful procedure. I was a little disappointed because I wanted Patty to draw a smiley face on my buttocks for the gastroenterologist, but she refused.

Late that afternoon, I went to work and, on the way, stopped by the bulk food isle at Martins and purchased two hands full of sugar free Gummies to munch on while I recovered from the lingering GI effects of the prep and procedure.

What the Go Lightly did not do, the Gummies completed. Let’s just say that I had to IMMEDIATELY abandon all thoughts of safely passing gas; my rear end had become a fire hydrant. At first I thought that the Go Lightly was FINALLY working, but then I realized it was the sorbitol in the Gummies.

I told all of my colleagues at work about it and suggested that we use a “Sugar Free Gummie Bear Prep” for those individuals who could not or would not drink Go-Lightly. I don’t know if anyone has tried it yet.

Thanks for the story; I can tell you that it is NOT an urban legend.

Heh.

re: #10 NJDhockeyfan

The manufacturer should consider applying to the FDA to use this product as a pre-colonoscopy preparation. All of the reviews say it tastes great, something no one who has ever gagged down a gallon of the regular prep would ever say, it’s cheap, and a little goes a long way.
