Fraternity Expelled Over Racist MLK-Themed Party

Arizona State University severed ties with the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity Thursday night, only days after a party over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend depicting racial stereotypes drew harsh criticism from civil rights leaders.

The university released a statement saying it has notified the fraternity that its recognition as a fraternity chapter at ASU has been permanently revoked.

Revoking recognition means the 65-year-old local chapter is no longer affiliated with ASU. The group won’t be listed on the university’s website and cannot recruit members or hold meetings on campus.

we must remember according to (FoXXY NewZZZ and Rush Lameblow) the real racists are the ones who discovered and pointed out the frat party in question, and that racism just really doesn’t exist now anyway.

Here’s a twist.

ASU Frat’s “MLK Black Party” Defended by Black Civil Rights Advocate

Amid all the outrage over ASU fraternity brothers having an “MLK Black Party,” where white students mocked black people to go along with the party’s theme, there is one person who’s defending the students who hosted the party.

Michael Meyers, who’s black and the head of the New York Civil Rights Coalition, is urging that ASU president Michael Crow not take any disciplinary action against the students involved with the party. New Times needed Meyers to explain this one.

“Whether I see something wrong is not the issue,” Meyers says. He believes their actions are protected by the First Amendment, so they shouldn’t be punished by a public university. Plus, he says that he didn’t find it particularly racist, anyway.

“If their party was racist, so what?” Meyers says. “It was a party. I mean, where is our sense of humor?”

Meyers, a self-proclaimed liberal who happens to have several friendly appearances on Fox News, says he was laughing at the photos of the party.

wrenchwench - Meyers declared the NAACP a hate group. So yeah - he’s a TOTAL liberal. Especially when on Hannity, one of his regular slots!
I imagine he’s a ‘self described’ liberal, because no sane person would be able to do him the honor.

Went over to the TKE Facebook page. It’s basically a bunch of white frat boys whining that they either they’re being unfairly punished or their right to be racist without consequence is being trampled.

Fucking idiots. I left a comment, but probably shouldn’t have.
