Oh, I can’t wait to see all the dim bulbs of the GOP flicker and spark in response to Obama. Just more material to bury them with in November.

And wow, go Rand Paul. The GOP won’t let you speak for them, and now even the knuckle-dragging, bottom of the barrel Teabaggers won’t let you talk for them. Oh hey, have you been kicked off your own phony medical board too?

Because it’s work so well for everyone that has done one? See: Jindal, Bobby (technically, not a SOTU response, but I’m counting it); Bachmann, Michelle; Rubio, Marco; etc.

Everyone wants to do the response because it’s such a wide open field on the GOP side that anyone who’s got even the slighted presidential ambitions wants the opportunity to get additional press, even more than 2 years out from the 2016 elections. Any advantage, even if you’re trying to be more extreme than those around you to distinguish yourself from the pack.

It’s a cavalcade of crazy.

Last year, the official Republican response to the president’s State of the Union address was delivered by a famously parched Sen. Marco Rubio.

Was that just last year? Feels like it was about eight years ago.

I can’t wait until an R is president again and we can go back to having only one response by the opposition party, all the while our ‘liberal’ media wonders why there needs to be an opposition response at all and how isn’t that unpatriotic? But they’ll just be asking questions…. //

Why do they need three responses? Just goes to show how divided this party is.

7 Lidane  Mon, Jan 27, 2014 10:48:54am

Why would anyone sit through three different responses? WTF.

I can’t imagine a single person doing that unless they’re getting paid.

Having multiple responses also serves the important function of allowing lies to be repeated ad nauseum. No doubt all of them will complain about the tyranny of Obamacare, the dire threat of raising the debt ceiling, the folly of protecting the environment through regulation and the assault on religion inherent in mandated contraception coverage.

It also creates the impression that the President’s views are in the minority when he gets “outnumbered” by these repeated responses. I just hope they all manage to make fools of themselves a la Jindal.

I doubt many people will see all three responses. I assume only the official GOP response will get free network airtime.
Paul’s will be on YouTube and sent to his supporters. Nothing more than campaigning on his part.

Although I can see Morning Joke and Jack Tapper and other various assorted political-media jokesters giving each response careful and prolonged and very serious attention….

Paul’s towering over-estimation of his importance is more and more amusing as time goes on. He really thinks he’s the shit don’t he?

Notice that did you? He is really hard to take. But somehow, there he is. There is so much I just do not get about any of this anymore.
