There’s little evidence that low-income women on welfare are having far more children than those who aren’t enrolled.

What is the definition of “far more”? Twice as many? Three times as many? How about more than they can afford to raise decently?

It is a sad fact that many do do it for the money, or simply because it is too much trouble to worry about. The solution however is not to punish the children, but in education and organizations like Planned Parenthood and of course free and readily available contraception, not to mention punishment for the fathers that is real and tangible if they do not provide what the state has to.

Uh, Rand…you want to increase back alley abortions? Keep up the Republican drive to stop all abortions and put in a policy like this and you increase the back-alley mess.

This is guy is brilliant???

Of course he wants to increase back alley abortions. All so-cons do, in fact.

Having uppity women die of botched abortions suits the so-con agenda perfectly.

It’s funny how the usual dingalings ding down a comment that is not supportive of the title of the OP; without comment.

Here’s the cause of the ding:

Your opinion, with which I disagree, by itself would not cause a downding, but coupled with your comment history and attitude, I think it’s really rude for you to say that, and mean.

Have another one.

It’s true, but you in your sheltered life, and grudges, don’t like to hear certain things. I’ve been a landlord, and dare I say a good one, for 20 years and had a fair share of section 8 tenants and seen quite a bit of their family life in the process. There are many women (and their men), some good some bad, who nevertheless are in the category of children having children having children….

As to the statistics, it is a fact that women who have children they can’t afford to raise on their own will be on welfare, and it is a fact that many of those are children of mothers who were in the same category, and it is a fact that their own children are likely to do the same.

Any fool can take the averages nationally and claim that all those on welfare don’t have “far more” children than others; and pretend that this allows the issue to be ignored.

What’s truly amusing is how some see fit to demand a precise definition of “far more”, and then in the very next sentence proceed to make an equally vague, unsubstantiated assertion that “many” do it for the money.

How did you know that I’ve spent all my 56 years under a rock? That’s amazing.

I know that many do it for the money, either to claim from the man or the state because I have heard them say so, and I have heard the men say so, and I have seen that it is essentially impossible for a woman without education and 3 or 4 children to have a job to support them, but when rent, food, and utilities are paid they have a decent level of income.

What is amazing is how naive you are about a sector of our society that you are clearly ignorant about.

The fault, when it comes down to that is in our education system and the people who vote for the likes of Rand Paul who admits he doesn’t have a solution, except perhaps give out free bibles.

Under a rock? I would have guessed sitting on a rock shaped like a pedestal.

I respectfully suggest that it is you who is trolling, again, given that you make no arguments against my suggestions that it is preventive assistance that is needed to reduce childbirth to women who can’t support them, not actions that are punitive to the children.

I also suggest that you never even read that, but instead are playing your usual ditto head role on a purely personal basis with posts that are more suited for places like Breitbart or WND.
