If only Pat had stopped at the last sentence I posted. The problem to Pat isn’t that American workers got the shaft in all of this, but that they were replaced with yellow and brown foreigners with accents who seem to think they’re entitled to the same things as real Americans.

I’m not so sure. From my vantage point the flock continues to be fleeced.

The Wall Street Journal has always supported open immigration since it lowers wages and increases corporate profits.

1. Back in 1992, I visited a couple I know pretty well. Nose to the grindstone, salt of the earth, traditionalist decent people. The conversation turned to politics. They hesitated and ventured that they were listening to what Buchanan was saying. “We know he’s a scumbag, but he’s the only one out there who even mentions the things that affect us.”

2. Moreover, in 2014 the scumbag is correct in this: ever since 1988, the Republican Party has worked against the interests of its voters.

3. I recall my disgust at how Bush 41 grovelled to Buchanan in 1992. If he’d had the backbone to stand up to him and run like 1948 Truman—-with Henry Wallace to his left and Dewey to his right and Strom Thurmond undermining the Solid South—-, Bush just might have prevailed like Harry did.

As it was, this Reagan supporter voted for Bill Clinton. In fact, I’d vote for Bill Clinton over any major candidate since he left office.

4. God, I despise the Bush family.

Waxing socialist while focusing on nationalism as a euphemism for racism. Gee, could Pat be a fasc… D’oh! Godwin’s law.

Indeed. Immigration and overseas labor wouldn’t be a problem for us if it weren’t for that whole “exploiting rock-bottom cheap labor” aspect. If the “damn dirty foreign workers” had decent wages, benefits, and legal protection, then they would become consumers contributing to the economy as opposed to living hand-to-mouth with nothing left to spare. And that would lead to the creation of more jobs.

But no. Thats too complicated for Patty here. Better to think of jobs as a static quantity, a commodity if you will, and just focus on which race country ought to have them.

$20 to your favorite charity says they try to push Jeb in 2016. Maybe Santorum as Veep to be the fundy sop?

I just read a few days ago that Barbara is sandbagging her sons’ further ambitions for the Presidency. I do not think they are ready for another round of their dirty laundry being aired which is what will certainly happen.

Sucker bet. I’ve already seen a couple of pundits pushing the line for Jeb. As in (paraphrase, not quote as can’t recall exact source to check):

“With the fall of Christie it appears the GOP frontrunners are Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan.”

fwiw, this made me laugh and cry simultaneously.

Surely America couldn’t be brain-dead enough to elect another Bush President, though the GOP could nominate one.

Sorry, not touching that. Even though the Bushes tend to be suspicious of people more competent than they are, I’ll say Cruz is more likely than Santorum.

Barbara, I suspect, is the brains of the family.
