I’m just loving it. From the outside, the perspective of a nonbeliever, it cracks me up to see these guys running back and forth with highlighted little study bibles in their hands, pointing at the underlining and mangling of the meaning of the text they’ve done, all hollering to out-Christian each other.

From out here, it just looks like Christianity is a morass of conflicting nonsense that I can safely ignore. I could give a shit about which verse and chapter. It’s enough to notice the utter chaos in the narrative. How could anyone possibly use such a swirling mass of contradictions to guide themselves anywhere but lost is beyond explaining.

Unfortunately, this mess is significantly less amusing when one realizes that the US right approaches all questions of public policy in this kind of religious fanatic mode, and is also actively seeking to foster stupidity and suppress critical thinking among voters and future voters.

…and to construct a consciously unequal system embedded with implicit rules about who gets an out. Draconian for some, feather-light for others, because you can’t embarrass the faith/the congregation/the pastor….

Erick Erickson is huffing his own supply of mind-altering substances again.

At Redstate today, he’s pretending that the Democrats were nastier to GW Bush than Republicans have been to Obama.
