Breitbart was such an asshole. I feel sorry for his family that they lost their son, brother, father, and husband but the man was a toxic asshole politically willing to it seems ally with anyone due to his warped hatred of anything left of center.

This is not a surprise, pretty much anyone associated with the “Leadership Institute” ends up hobnobbing and rubbing elbows with white nationalist youth. It’s the conservative outreach program for far right college youth.

Also here’s a past reminder of what the Robert Taft club is all about:

I honestly don’t believe that Breitbart was actually conservative, all he cared about was making money and given the seething hatred that has taken of the right-wing, it was pretty easy to come up with a business plan to make money off of it.

Like what some people say about Coulter? I think you could be right. I think it’s even more shitty if he wasn’t a true believer honest though.

I think to an extent Coulter is a true-believer, but her choice in rhetoric seems to vary depending on the media platform. Kind of like how Gretchen Carlson dumbs how self down just to make it on FOX News.

That’s what I think differentiates Coulter/Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity et al from the likes of Breitbart. The former knows what their audience wants to hear and they deliver it. Beck, in particular, has so much as admitted that he exaggerates a lot of what he says. Limbaugh too. Coulter is so over the top sometimes that she couldn’t possibly be serious. Hannity? He’s a mouthpiece who spews what he’s told to spew.

But I think Breitbart was a true believer, so much so that he seemed to indulge in rage for it’s own sake, no matter what the rage was about (as evidenced by these pictures). As long as there was full throated anger to express, Breitbart was down. He’d go out and seek people to scream at…and given his heart problems it’s no mystery that this eventually killed him.

This is the first comment from the linked article:

The term “racist” has become the 15th century equivalent of “heretic”. The intellectual movement behind cultural preservationists can not all be lumped into the same brew as skinheads, KKK’ers and Nazi’s. You risk making the term irrelevant and meaningless, stifle real debate about the desireability and consequences of what multi-culturalism means for the future, and stereotype your opponents and trivialize the debate.

Using your criteria, Harvard’s late great Samuel Huntington would be a moronic “rascist”.

Up until about 10 or 15 years ago, anti multiculturalism was only talked about by white supremacists. It then made its way to mainstream republican talking points. I have even seen right wingers on this site (who I still like, nonetheless) support it.

And for the record, it is way too late for westerners to want to preserve their culture. Even their main religion comes from the Middle East.
