It would be especially neat if we can help 25% of the kids without killing 25% of the adults. This principle is not limited to Syria.

In addition, many children have had to start working early and very young girls have been forced to marry for financial reasons. Boys as young as 12 have been recruited to support the fighting.

Yes, that jumped out at me too. This war is forcing them to grow up way too fast.

It highlights the difference of what we call “childhood” and how lucky children are compared to others - by no other virtue that circumstance of birth.
