Nobody ever likes to see a price increase, but I’ll still keep my Prime membership. Even at $99/year it’s still a great service. Netflix costs about the same, but Amazon has free shipping on lots of stuff in addition to most of the same TV shows and movies.

And Netflix, by the way, may also be raising its price soon.

I will still keep my Prime membership too. I like the fast shipping service. As a matter of fact I just got three pen sized styli overnight and I like them a lot.

But that has rankled some investors, who are looking for bigger returns.

People can be soooooo greedy.

Amazon price 12 months ago (approx): $256
Amazon price today : $375.

Annual Return: 46%.

Still, I have no problem with the price increase.

i also think this is a fair increase - and the value of the service meets the price… :)

It’s understandable that they’re doing this. Price of demand. It’s a great service.

Also, Amazon has a feeble EPS and an astronomical P/E.

Bezos needs to do something about that.

I demanded (and received) a full refund for my Prime membership after Amazon went to their bullshit FedEx/UPS + USPS shipping method. Shipping isn’t “two-day” if I have to wait for the post office to get off their asses and do their job. Not to mention that I have to go to the post office to pick up and packages and they’re only opened four hours a day, all of which are when I’m at work.

So, why should I pay for incompetent shipping which ends up being the same speed as their free shipping on orders over $25?
