Given Rand’s own stated problem with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, this is really something he should shut his mouth about but he won’t because he’s an arrogant asshole. Pretty telling that Rand was awfully quiet about the NSA in the Bush years.

Reading the things Rand Paul said in regard to President Obama, Black Americans and spying pissed me off. He was trying to make the case that since the U.S. government has a habit of spying on “teh blahs,” President Obama should be concerned about curbing the NSA’s surveillance activities. Ha! RP must think we’re stupid. We know that the U.S. government has spied on Americans of every racial, political, ethnic, sexual, and religious stripe.

Why he felt he had to single us out and say that this president should “do” something about it is beyond me. RP may think he’s forging some “bridge” with us, but what he’s doing is burning all bridges which could be used to get us to listen to him. There’s nothing that pisses me off more than having someone I know who doesn’t give two shits about anyone/thing except himself fabricate BS and try using it to “reach” out to me/us/them. Hell, it’s no secret that RP doesn’t like a whole lot of people in this country.

If this tool expects us to begin hating President Obama, he’d better think again. I’d say we, more than most others, know what this president is having to deal with. It’s because we understand, and in many instances have been there, done that, that we refuse to abandon him to the RW wolves like RP. This b*tch ain’t as smart as he thinks he is if he thinks this kind of divisive, mean-spirited, racist, BS will cause us Black Americans to vote for his ass.

Rand Paul doesn’t have shit to say about all of the NSA surveillance done under GWB, but all of a sudden, since this president is in office, he thinks he should do something about it because of “teh blahs.” F*ck him with a rusty pipe! If only RP knew how very little we blacks listen to him, how he disgusts us with his divisive, one-note pandering, and how we get a bad taste in our mouths every time we think/talk about him, maybe then, he’d sit his ass down and study the history of the nation he allegedly serves in the capacity of a know-nothing politician and major piece of racist shit.

So, Martin Luther King Jr. is just like Osama bin Laden, is that what you’re saying Rand?

Actually, he does. All authoritarians hold most of humanity in contempt.

Rand, like his father revels in the comfort of being part of a dominant plurality with all the institutionalized benefits that entails. The Utopianist outlook one has with the Libertarian ideal is highly dependent on everyone enjoying the same automatic freedoms and rights in society.

The truth is, being a Western-European looking white male offers one automatic social accommodations that other demographic parties do not enjoy. Virtually every society on Earth also has built-in structures that limit the potential of certain populations, like being a woman, darker skinned people, lower economic class, caste, religious minority, etc.

Rand’s trafficking in NSA surveillance fear cannot be taken seriously as his real goals (gleaned from a quick Google from speeches and writings) are much more nefarious - the repeal of the Civil Rights Act, employment guarantees and quotas, etc. The real danger is he appears like his father to be a true believer - and that makes him dangerous as a true believer in Utopia always ends up really F**KING up a country in a big major way.
