This simple observation resulted in house arrest for the remainder of his life, during which he developed what we now know as kinematics and the mechanics of materials.

It really wasn’t the observation that got Galileo in trouble.

It looks like you copied the blog post in whole. While it is worth reading, unless you are the original author (or has his permission) you probably shouldn’t copy the complete thing.

As far as the “observation” being the point of contention, that is a fair statement. It was clearly the implication which caused an issue.

nice work.. well postulated, well argued,

If a person’s reality tunnel (Leary, Anton Wilson) and social imprinting tells them that homosexuality is evil or wrong or abnormal, then no amount of statistics or research papers will convince them otherwise…or at least, it will not be an easy process to take a step back and re-examine the contents of the mind they are relying on to process information.

I give that it is difficult - however - the exodus international case shows us - it is possible..

Excellent article based on the empirical truth and progress of science.
I’ve just listened to a radio program on the threat of asteroids to our long term survival.
If one teaches children that God or Zeus or Allah or any other deity created the earth six thousand years ago ;then we would not exist due to asteroid collisions.
Filling children’s minds with such absurd information ,poisons there ability to think logically.
Schools should engage debates on God versus no God based on empirical evidence; religion would be demonstrated as a waste of time, progress , and money.

The Virus: What Went Wrong?Another world-class example of investigative journalism from the good people over at Frontline, this one examining the COVID-19 pandemic and the Trump administration's badly bungled response to it.
