Court documents say Yee or one of his campaign staffers accepted at least $42,800 in cash or campaign contributions from undercover FBI agents

It never ceases to amaze me what these clowns will do for what’s basically chump change. No wonder politics is so corrupt; they offer Tiffany services at WalMart prices.

People in positions of power who abuse their position should face a 20 year minimum sentence, no parole, IMO.

The Dems in California are doing their best to hand control of the government back to the GOP. Way to go, assholes.

Where ever there is lots of cash to be made tax-free, you can be sure someone in government is getting paid. It’s the only way such industries can thrive.

This is why the insanity of the GOP is so dangerous. At the state and even national level, the GOP can get back into power when the Democrats screw up.

Not that it in any way excuses his behavior, but I think he was trying to pay off campaign debt or some such thing. He has some history of doing petty stupid stuff.

I do agree that an awful lot of our public servants are for sale at bargain basement prices. I don’t know if it would be any better if corrupt politicians held out for more money, but it would at least make it more understandable.

You’re sure he wasn’t doing it for (very wrong, but) ideological reasons? It’s more plausible than doing it for, what, 3/4 of a year’s Assemblyman’s salary…

Gun control advocate caught up in illegal guns for money scheme.
