So, what we have here is the state siding with the polluter against itself. How can this be?

This is how.

(Gov.) McCrory, a Republican, worked for Duke more than 28 years prior to retiring to run for governor. The nation’s largest electricity company and its employees have remained generous political supporters to McCrory’s campaign and GOP-aligned groups that support him, providing more than $1.1 million in support since 2008.

Answer; There is no “State” nor are there laws. There is money and elected officials who work for the money. They just told every citizen in that state to go piss up a rope. Have a nice swimming and boating season.

Has the Governor apologized to Duke Energy yet for polluting its wonderful gunk with disgusting groundwater?

Wait, the Dan river also flows through Virginia… How are they not involved in this?

I said elsewhere, it’s nice to see a state with honest politicians. Duke Energy bought them, and by god, they’re staying bought!

This should be a lesson for voters. If you elect Republicans to run your state, don’t expect little things like voting rights, clean water and air, or healthcare. Just take comfort in your low taxes, and hope you’ve saved enough money to buy bottled water and pay for the cancer treatments.
