Bundy seems to be a very confused man. It wouldn’t surprise me to discover he’s in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

He doesn’t actually know when his family purchased the land. He claims he doesn’t recognize “the United States government as even existing.”, yet on Hack Hannity’s show he’s shown in a photo op riding while carrying the US flag.

If I were a member of Bundy’s family I’d be worried about all of the crazies who have decided to camp on my land. You never know when some of them may see something they like and just take it, like Bundy.

Or, he’s just yet another far right-wing extremist who is incapable of telling the truth.

I thought he was being pretty careful with his claim. His ancestors had been up and down the valley, or whatever. He didn’t say they settled, he didn’t say they bought, he didn’t claim anything except that their hanging around gave him rights.

My family has often gone to various national parks and monuments. In some cases going back generations to before they were parks or monuments. So, I get to build a vacation cabin in one of them!

One more person whose reliance on Welfare and government handouts has made him dependent on the government and unable to make it on his own. He needs to have his benefits cut so he can be a Free Man once again. Boot straps and all that character building that goes with it. Fish heads and rice. I saw a bumper sticker on a car the other day and it said “Nothing is free! I want my country back!” I would bet that they are friends at heart. Not a sane brain cell amongst either, but friends none the less. The Stupid. It Replicates.

“I’ve lived my lifetime here. My forefathers have been up and down the Virgin Valley here ever since 1877. All these rights that I claim, have been created through pre-emptive rights and beneficial use of the forage and the water and the access and range improvements,” Bundy told KLAS before the government’s round up began.

[….]

But court records obtained by KLAS indicated the family’s cattle didn’t begin grazing the land until 1954

This is a great idea.

This ironic, trust fund hippies against an old rich right winger who probably reminds many Burning Man folks of their parents.

Yes, but you’ll note he doesn’t mention any dates or locations for his activities beyond when his forefathers showed up in the area and that he has spent his whole life on his ranch. I’d say it was definitely misleading, but not an out and out lie. Well, except for the part where he claims these things give him legal rights to use someone else’s land.

Seems like no one on the far right remember all this kind of free state/patriot nonsense that was happening prior to Tim McVeigh. It will happen again, these guys are fed a diet of hate and anger every day on Fox and on radio, and innocent people are gonna die because of these hillbillies and their gun fetish and their manufactured anger.

Hope Hannity, et al have the balls to accept their roles if something bad happens.

You only need to look to Rush Limbaugh to see what the chances of that ever happening are.

Stop right there. Hannity and balls does not compute. Invalid response, please enter new data.

The last guy, when he says NATURAL RIGHTS what he means is, “If you have something I want, I’ll take it. That includes your life if you piss me off.”

Which he is allowed to believe, it’s a free country. But I wish people like him would stop fucking lying about their motivation. All this libertarian shit has nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with freedom or rights. It’s all about power.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott courts Bundy fanboy, militia vote:

“Private landowners in Texas have owned, maintained, and cultivated this land for generations. Despite the long-settled expectations of these hard-working Texans along the Red River, the BLM appears to be threatening their private property rights by claiming ownership over this territory,” wrote Abbott, the Republican candidate for governor.
…snip…
Paul McGwire, an agency spokesman, said the disputed land has not been fully surveyed, and that it hopes a new survey will clear up the confusion about its ownership.
