Mr. PrenĀtice spent his last couĀple of years in fedĀeral polĀiĀtics as MinĀisĀter of EnĀviĀronĀment in a cabĀiĀnet that was not known for its enĀthuĀsiĀasm for cliĀmate change sciĀence. His abilĀity to inĀfluĀence naĀtional polĀicy was, thereĀfore, limĀited and not nearly as high-proĀfile as othĀers who would be likely conĀtenders for the leadĀerĀship of the party once Prime MinĀisĀter Stephen Harper reĀtires.
