Russ Campbellâs Blog: IPSOS Poll: Hudakâs Prospects Improve
A new IpÂsos Reid poll conÂducted for CTV News and CP24 shows the deÂsire for change in OnÂtarioâs govÂernÂment is strengthÂenÂing and that Tim HuÂdakâs imÂage has imÂproved.
This is good news for those who beÂlieve the McGuinty-Wynne govÂernÂment has set this province on a path to ecoÂnomic ruin with a free-spendÂing budÂget and a debt-load that prompted the LibÂerÂalsâ own forÂmer fiÂnance minÂisÂter, Dwight DunÂcan, to warn OnÂtarioâs inÂterÂest payÂments on its debt âare a tickÂing time bomb.â
DunÂcan made this asÂsessÂment in JanÂuÂary 2013 and guess what? The deficit for the upÂcomÂing year is proÂjected to be higher than last. Thatâs two years in a row that the budÂget shortÂfall has inÂcreased and the Grits are withÂout a beÂlievÂable fisÂcal plan that will see the budÂget balÂanced in the foreÂseeÂable fuÂture.
