Russ Campbell’s Blog: IPSOS Poll: Hudak’s Prospects Improve
A new IpÂsos Reid poll conÂducted for CTV News and CP24 shows the deÂsire for change in OnÂtario’s govÂernÂment is strengthÂenÂing and that Tim HuÂdak’s imÂage has imÂproved.
This is good news for those who beÂlieve the McGuinty-Wynne govÂernÂment has set this province on a path to ecoÂnomic ruin with a free-spendÂing budÂget and a debt-load that prompted the LibÂerÂals’ own forÂmer fiÂnance minÂisÂter, Dwight DunÂcan, to warn OnÂtario’s inÂterÂest payÂments on its debt “are a tickÂing time bomb.”
DunÂcan made this asÂsessÂment in JanÂuÂary 2013 and guess what? The deficit for the upÂcomÂing year is proÂjected to be higher than last. That’s two years in a row that the budÂget shortÂfall has inÂcreased and the Grits are withÂout a beÂlievÂable fisÂcal plan that will see the budÂget balÂanced in the foreÂseeÂable fuÂture.
