Russ Campbellâs Blog: Mulcair on the Hot-Seat, NDP Not So Sanctimonious Now
All inÂdiÂcaÂtions are, at least as reÂported widely in the news meÂdia, that the fedÂeral New DeÂmocÂrats have enÂgaged in a scheme to use taxÂpayer money to help fund their party opÂerÂaÂtions in QueÂbec and Saskatchewan.
The norÂmally so sancÂtiÂmoÂnious DipÂpers have alÂlegedly set up a satelÂlite ofÂfice in MonÂtreal that viÂoÂlates parÂliaÂmenÂtary spendÂing rules. The ofÂfice housed both party workÂers and govÂernÂment-paid workÂers who are supÂposed to work exÂcluÂsively on non-parÂtiÂsan conÂstituency work. The MonÂtreal ofÂfice was also, alÂlegedly, signed as an NDP ofÂfice with its party logo.
NDP leader Thomas MulÂcair, apÂparÂently, got all huffy when pressed by reÂporters. He inÂsisted his party had done nothÂing wrong, and that duÂties were sepÂaÂrated to enÂsure parÂliaÂmenÂtary staff only does parÂliaÂmenÂtary work and poÂlitÂiÂcal staff does only poÂlitÂiÂcal work.
