It’s perfectly acceptable for two daughters to get their father drunk, then have “relations” with him in hopes that the act will result in them becoming pregnant.

If I’m not mistaken, this is the family out of all the others in the world that God chose to save.

Well, Sodom and Gomorrah were not exactly the world, but you have a valid point ;)

Nevertheless, the CC speaker misleads - nowhere does the Bible say that it was OK.

Lot, Noah, need a scorecard sometimes to keep it all straight.

Jephthah is a more interesting example. He burned his daughter as a sacrifice to God (apologetic excuses notwithstanding) and was praised as one of the heroes of Team Faith in the NT.

Shiplord Kirel,

Comedy Central is actually the perfect Network to do this, since all the Creationists’ “facts” are a joke.

This is genius. I hope someone takes them up on it.

Your talking about the story of Lot which came somewhat later, in Lot’s story only Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed. In the story of Noah every person and town on the entire planet, except for Noah’s family taking refuge inside the Ark, is killed/destroyed.

Immediately after the Ark lands on dry ground Noah’s two daughters decide that they need to get impregnated by him, so they get him drunk and do the dirty with daddy. (so as to start repopulating the Earth as quickly as possibly).

So if you believe that the bible is the infallible word of God that should be taken completely literally rather than as a collection of parables. Then you also believe that the whole of mankind came about as the result of father/daughter incest. (after the whole brother/sister incest thing between Adam and Eves offspring that resulted in Noah in the first place of course).

Then again, maybe the fact that we are all supposedly so closely inbred might explain some of colossal stupidity we see on evident display daily? :p

Pretty funny, but I’m I’m pretty sure that this is satire, and CC didn’t actually issue a press release like this. They should though.

No, wrong story.

Noah got drunk, and who can blame him after being stuck on a tiny boat with a couple of million animals, bugs, and everything else that survived to this day.

Anyway, his youngest son Ham sees him naked, tells his two older brothers who then cover up dad, who later awakens pissed off and puts a perpetual curse of slavery on Ham’s son Canaan. Why Canaan? Hell if I know.

You are right, it was Lot’s daughters who got him drunk. And of course since the YEC’s believe that we are all descendants of Adam and Eve, that means that their sons would’ve had no-one to marry except their own sisters and nieces.
