It’s best to keep the categories of slavery and wage slavery separate.

The main problem with conflating the two is that apologists for wage slavery are thereby given an easy out where they can argue that what they want isn’t exactly slavery.

Eh… I’ve never done pro-bono yard work for my dissertation adviser.

My university is also fairly strict about the limits for hours that TAs or graduate interns are allowed to work.
