Purely in the interests of accuracy I’d say 17 mm and not inches. Of treating human beings as if they were pigeons, what can one say?

Read People of the Abyss sometime. The British used to have their night police wander around and wake up any homeless people they found sleeping. Perversely, they didn’t wake homeless people up in the day time. So the victorians tsk-tsked about the lazy homeless, and then put in place a system by which no working homeless man would be able to do productive work during daylight hours, having been forced to walk aimlessly around all night.

Disgusting doesn’t begin to describe this policy.

And if somebody slips and falls onto those things, well thats just the sacrifice that must be made to stop somebody from sleeping there.

I hope nobody gets hurt by these things. But if they do, I hope the a-holes who put them there get sued so bad that they become homeless themselves.
