South Dakota GOP Moves Forward Calling for President Obama’s Impeachment
While Republicans talking about impeaching President Obama is nothing new, actually following through it, like the South Dakota Republican Party did today, is.
According to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, the delegates at the party’s annual convention in Rapid City voted in favor of the measure 191-176, claiming that Obama has “violated his oath of office in numerous ways.” The resolution specifically cites the trade for US Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the oft-cited campaign promise that “you can keep your own doctor” and existing healthcare plans under the ACA, and recent EPA proposals that would try to curb emissions from coal power plants.
The delegate who sponsored the resolution, Allen Unruh, said that he possessed a “thick book on impeachable offenses of the president.” He called for South Dakota to “send a symbolic message that liberty shall be the law of the land.”
