TVLine announced today Brandon Routh has joined the cast of Arrow as Ray Palmer, aka The Atom. Routh played Superman in 2006′s “Superman Returns” and arguably the best Scott Pilgrim villain there is, Todd Ingram.
According to the scoop…
Ray will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver and (rumored love interest) Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. Palmer’s plans for Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division will be shrouded in mystery.
For those unfamiliar, The Atom has the ability to shrink to a sub-atomic level and do all kinds of really cool things when he’s tiny. The character dates back to the Golden Age of DC Comics, first appearing appeared in October 1940 in “All-American Comics #19.” Ray Palmer took the role in the early 1960s as the second Atom.
