Religious Zionist Rabbis Send Letter to Family of Slain Palestinian Boy: ‘We Are Ashamed’

Jerusalem - Religious Zionist rabbis sent a letter Monday to the family of murdered Palestinian boy Mohammad Abu Khdeir, saying they are sorry for the crime and that they wish to offer comfort during the time of sadness.
The letter reads, “We are ashamed of our people down to the bottom who carried out such a vile and brutal murder,” according to NRG (bit.ly ). (Full text of letter in Hebrew at site)
The letter went on to say the rabbis also felt the grief of the loss and that it is hard to imagine the pain the family feels over losing their young son who had his life ahead of him.
Some of the signatures on the letter included Rabbi Yaakov Ariel, Rabbi Moshe Lichtenstein, Rabbi Yuval Cherlow, Rabbi David Stav and Rabbi Yehuda Gilad, among others.
The rabbis also called on religious leaders of the Arab public to join them and educate others on the importance of the preservation of innocent life and to create communication to live in peace.
