She’s ugly? I’m must have the most atrocious taste in women because I think she looks pretty good.

Well the simple fact that she has never held the “stick” between her legs should automatically disqualify her from consideration. 32 years of experience in the Air Force, a lot of it in command and/or training command positions in weapons and tactics is pretty thin for qualifications if you ask me.

So she deployed overseas and has combat command experience from the Iraq war, so what? She still has no idea what it is like to “yank on the stick” which is after all the only true measure of any Air Force General’s worth.

In the WND Army, artillery officers must be shot from cannons to qualify for promotion.

I’ve never been in the military…most of my knowledge about the military comes from sci-fi like David Drake, David Weber…AND EVEN I KNEW THAT COMMAND EXPERIENCE AND COMBAT EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT.

As for the bit about Gaydar…eh, possible. Does that affect her ability to command?

Her husband might have a few things to say about the whole “gaydar” thing

She’s around 54 years old (she received her B.A. in 1981, making her DOB around 1960) and they think she’s bad looking?

I did a little research into USPACOM. The wingnuts’ complaint is entirely invalid.

The commander before Robinson, Adm. Samuel J. Locklear was Surface Warfare, not a pilot.

The 20th Commander, Adm. Thomas B. Fargo, was a squid, a submariner.

Adm. Dennis. C. Blair, was Surface Warfare.

Adm. Charles R. Larson was also a squid.

So, once again, the wingnuts are full of it.

She’s going to be in charge of Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), not United States Pacific Command (USPACOM).

I’ll do some research when I get back from visiting my mom. I’m pretty sure we’ll find that we’ll find non-pilots there as well.

10 HappyWarrior  Jul 24, 2014 7:18:47am

They would have complained if Obama had chosen Eisenhower during WWII since Ike had no combat experience during WWI. This is just your usual wingnut whining and fuck Bryan Fischer. Feminizing the military asshole? This woman has served her country in uniform for the past 32 years and the best you got is some lame attack on her gender?

Doesn’t Mr. Watson remember the old military maxim that battles and wars are won on tactics, strategy, communications, training, logistics ,,, and logistics. These are areas of mastery that are not within the average pilot’s purview. It’s what a commander deals with daily.

…uh, what?

Last I checked, I simply corrected someone on what command she was assuming.

I don’t get it either.

I would have posted the same reply on the difference between the Pacific Air Force Command and the U.S. Pacific Command If I had seen R.H.’s comment first. PACAF is only one part of the USPACOM which includes surface (naval), subsurface (submarine), Air Force (fighters, bombers, transports, refueling tankers, etc), Army (infantry and armor), and Marine (infantry, armor, ground support flight operations, and landing craft) components.

I would have to assume that the Washington Times already researched that question before they stated that no non-pilot has ever held the Pacific Air Force Command or any other command of equal size.

I’m not trying to say that the theory that only past pilots can properly command current pilots is in any way correct. Just trying to clarify the facts as they exist regarding this story.

Big assumption, there.
