They do teach it as a theory, you moron, because that’s what it is. These idiots keep confusing science with their own belief system which requires the supernatural to operate.

A theory is an explanation for observations. The observations are the facts. They construe the meaning of fact to be truth with the same confidence they have in the Bible - absolute certainty. Science looks at fact as a data point, either one supporting an explanation or as an initial question that needs an explanation.

There is a hierarchy of knowledge they imagine where a theory is a partially supported supposition, a law is a fact (their definition) that a theory can evolve into and the top pier is God given truth as expressed in the Bible.

That a theory incorporates facts (bits of information), laws ( descriptions of consistencies with high predictability) and other theories all of which have been tested through successful predictions of outcomes is rejected by their confirmation/disconfirmation bias.

The magic of theories is in their ability to explain beyond the initial observations - unless you’re a creationist.

It didn’t used to be this way. For hundreds of years science and religion operated quite well in their own spheres.

Then along came the 1970s with the Moral Majority, and all of a sudden religious people decided that science was just another (inferior) belief system, and declared war on it. Now they’ve completely taken over the GOP, and show no signs of slowing down.

And it’s filtering north to Canada.

And it’s filtering north to Canada.

Is it?

That just proves that Canada should have built a wall to protect the country from the creeping stupidity virus that’s infected the entire US.
