So if he died in combat does that mean he wasn’t actually kidnapped by Hamas, as we’d been hearing? The article isn’t very clear:

The army said the Chief Military Rabbi considered halacha, medical and other relevant considerations, as well as findings from the battlefield, before making the decision.

The family was told there were enough pathological findings at the scene to declare Hadar’s death, and these findings also allow his burial.

Are they (rather euphemistically, IMO) saying that it took the IDF a couple of days to identify his remains, which were at the attack site?

Obviously, I’m a bit confused about what happened…
