Hmm, I don’t remember them getting their panties in a twist over depictions of Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) that offended Muslims because they were considered “blasphemous, irreverent and disrespectful” and “full of lies.”

Oh, I forgot—wrong religion—only Christianity should be protected.

The million moms are right, Jesus didn’t live amongst or hang around the poor or the outcast or people who drank. Oh wait…

These fucking religious fascists need to get out of people’s faces.

“Black Jesus” will air late at night, well after most kids are in bed, but Cole said the time of day is almost irrelevant. “No excuse — blasphemy is blasphemy, no matter what time of day it is,” Cole said.

In America we’re allowed to be as blasphemous as we want. These people are major assholes, and they’re on the rise.

Blasphemous, irreverent and disrespectful? They said the same thing about Laugh-In.

what’s funny is that if you read the new testament gospels in the Greek, you can also find many instances of Jesus swearing, and it’s heavily implied in the gospels and their historical context that he was a wine drinker. They should ban the New Testament!! //

re: #3 Charles Johnson

Technically I don’t even think it’s “blasphemy”. That word and its uses either has to apply to most of modern America, if it applies at all to this show.

Pointing “BLASPHEMY!!” is not even a New Testament concept, but really an ecclesiastical tool used by religious people in power to force others to do their bidding.

Didn’t anyone ever teach them that if what they have is all that it’s supposed to be, why would you give a rat’s ass about a fucking TV show that’s a satirical cartoon? The idea of BLASPHEMY on the other hand, has had millions killed all through history. Because God is Love. Unless you are who we think you are…..

These people are in for a hell of a surprise if the original Jesus does happen to come back. I wonder how Bryan Fischer will like being chased into the street with a whip?

I liked “The Boondocks” as a newspaper strip, but not as an extended cartoon. I’d heard of “Black Jesus” as well, and wasn’t really interested in it, but knowing that watching might piss off One Hundred…er…Million Moms and the AFA might make it worthwhile.

Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary defines blasphemy as “…YOUR irreverence to MY deity”.

He probably dreams of that very scenario…
